The Cricket School of Excellence (CSE) was founded in 1999 and since then it has grown to become one of the South Africa’s leading cricket schools running in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. This year we have launched new regions in Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg and Rustenburg with exciting opportunities in the progress are being established.

 

CSE founder, Ryan Maron is a Cricket South Africa level 3 coach and played through the ranks of Western Province (provincial) cricket and was selected to represent Western Province from 1997 to 2000.  He continued to represent WP ‘B’ up until 2004.  His coaching experience includes successful stints as head coach at Rondebosch Boys’ High School and several prominent clubs in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Denmark. Ryan is currently the head coach at the University of Cape Town.

The Cricket School of Excellence places huge value on the quality of service we offer. Our coaches are the most important assets we have and in light of this great care is taken to ensure they are looked after both on and off the field.  We believe that coaches development is crucial for indivisual growth. Coaches are encouraged to attain CSA Coaching qualifications and CSE will facilitate where possible.

Our Track Record and Philosophy

The CRICKET SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE (CSE) has been passionate about and focused on cricket coaching for the past 14 years and has been coaching over 12 000 aspiring young cricketers including 500 talented township cricketers and constantly endeavours to improve and develop the standard of cricket in all interested youngsters, both in the Western Cape and Gauteng areas. We at the CSE are of the opinion that the very best time to encourage a childs interest and to start focusing on ball skills and basic cricketing techniques is from as young an age as possible. We have found however, that a very small percentage of children are affiliated to a cricket club or cricket academy. It’s wonderful to come in the school holidays and see so many youngsters engaged in constructive activities, discovering their own talents, not hanging around on street corners, being trapped by drug dealers and gangs.
