Ryan Maron began his cricket career at the tender age of 10 under the guidance of the late Stuart Leary. Ryan has fond memories of attending cricket clinics with Stuart Leary and Leary's passion for the game had a huge impact on his life.
Ryan went on to represent Western Province in various age groups. In 1995 he attended the WP Superjuice academy and in 1998 the Plascon academy where he was coached by eminent greats such as Eddie Barlow, Hylton Ackerman and Clive Rice. A life - long dream came true in 1997 when he was chosen to represent the senior Western Province side until 2000, coached by Duncan Fletcher. Ryan continued to represent WP ‘B’ up until 2004. He has complimented his playing ability by gaining the U.C.B.S.A. Level III Cricket Coaching Certificate. His coaching experience includes successful stints as head coach at Rondebosch Boys’ High School and several prominent clubs in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Denmark. Ryan has recently been appointed as the head coach at the University of Cape Town where he has made a great impact since his induction.
Many people speak of putting something back - Ryan Maron makes sure that he does.
Ryan aims to teach aspiring cricketers the value of discipline, commitment and dedication that has stood him in such good stead on the cricket pitch. His passion to teach has lead him to continue Leary’s legacy when he started coaching on a small scale in 1996. Those lessons grew and developed into what has become Ryan Maron's Cricket School of Excellence.
Ryan Maron's Cricket School of Excellence has grown to coach many aspiring young cricketers every year throughout South Africa.
