Ryan reflects on PSL journey

What a ride the 2025 Pakistan Super League was.

Coaching the Quetta Gladiators this season — as their fielding coach — was one of the most intense and rewarding experiences of my career. We made it all the way to the final and came heartbreakingly close to lifting the trophy. Just a few moments went against us, but the journey… wow.

Now that I’m back at the Cricket School of Excellence, I’m more motivated than ever.

“The level of professionalism, focus, and energy those players brought every day — it’s something I can’t wait to share with all of you,” I told our coaching staff the moment I walked through the door. “We’re not just coaching kids here… we’re shaping future pros.”

At Quetta, fielding wasn’t just a box to tick. It was a mindset. “We trained under pressure, we competed every session, and we demanded excellence — even in warm-ups,” I often told the boys. And that same attitude is coming straight back into our drills at CSE.

We’ll be bringing in the exact routines I used in the PSL: reaction work, game-like scenarios, movement efficiency — all geared toward making each of you faster, sharper, and more confident in the field.

To every young player at CSE: this is your time. “If you want to play at the highest level, you’ve got to train like you’re already there,” I always say. And trust me — the little things? They really matter.

Let’s take it up a notch. I’ve seen what’s required. Now let’s get you there.
